Powder Room

The term powder room originated in the 17th century, when aristocrats needed a private place to powder, or freshen, their wigs. Nowadays these "half baths" offer a unique opportunity for bold and creative design choices where one can experiment with color and patterns. In this powder room, the New York City owners had the brilliant idea of decorating its walls with the story of their romance, including personal motifs and beloved New York icons—all  executed in the Swedish folk art style of painting known as Rosemal.
